About Newspread Limited

Newspread is a Magazine and Newspaper wholesale and distribution company operating in the Republic of Ireland (excluding County Donegal) supplying the 'Newsagency' trade. Newspread's portfolio includes the majority of magazine periodicals available in Ireland together with a large number of Daily and Sunday Newspapers.

Newspread was established in 1971 as a service company for two Irish Publishing Groups - the Creation Group and the Agricultural Trust and now is a wholly owned subsidiary of Independent News & Media PLC.

During the 1970's many Irish Publishers began to avail of Newspread's service for their wholesale/distribution requirements which extended, in the 80's, to include the majority of UK Publishers.

Newspread commenced distributing daily Newspapers in 1988 with the launch of the Irish Star to be shortly followed by the Mirror Group titles.

With the introduction of a daily service in 1988 Newspread became the largest news wholesale company in Ireland and continues in this position.

Distribution is to almost 6,000 retailers on a daily basis utilising up to 300 delivery units covering 40,000 kilometres a day and 50,000 kilometres on a Sunday.

In January 2006 Newspread relocated its distribution facility to Park West, West Dublin where it now operates on a 3 acre purpose designed distribution facility.
